If you are hosting a baby shower, then you must already know the importance of having decorations. If you do not, however, then you need to get yourself up to speed! Decorations at a baby shower provide an ambiance for the guests and the mom-to-be, and when it comes to setting the mood, it’s extremely important that the mood is set properly at a baby shower. It is after all a celebration, and it should reflect that!
Below are some great ideas for using balloons as the focus of the decorations. Some are easy to do, and others may require a little more work, but they all add a special touch to that special shower!
Using balloons as decoration pieces can be a very simple but unique way to decorate for a baby shower. There are so many different things you can do with them, there ideas are endless! Visit a dollar store to buy the balloons if you are planning on doing them yourself – you can get way more balloons for your buck!
Of course there are services that will create balloon decorations and bunches should you choose. Depending on how fancy you want to get (and how much time and patience you may or may not have) a balloon decorating service may be the way to go.
How to Make a Simple Balloon Bundle
Creating balloon bundles and bunches is actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it. To create a simple balloon cluster, blow up four balloons.
- Tie two balloons together by knot.
- Tie the other two balloons together by the knot.
- Take one of the sets of balloons and overlap the knot with the other knot, to create an X shape with the balloons.
- Push the balloons in opposite directions until the two sets of 2 become one set of four.
- Tie a string or ribbon around the center of the bunch and voila!
If you are planning on doing the balloon decorations yourself, remember you will most likely need helium. Balloons without helium will not float and you may not get the desired effect you are looking for.
