Place the Pacifier in the Baby’s Mouth

Another fun game to play at baby showers is the Place the Pacifier in the Baby’s Mouth baby shower game. It’s actually just like the old fashioned kids’ game Pin the Tail on the Donkey, except you use a picture of a baby and a pacifier (and it’s for adults – to be played at a baby shower, in case that part wasn’t clear.) The name itself is pretty boring and lame, but you can choose to re-name if you end up playing the game at the shower. I personally like “Cork the Baby” because pacifiers are known to be great baby-husher tools.

(If you are hosting a twin baby shower, there is a great twin crying baby image below!)

Supplies:

  • Enlarged picture of a baby (you can use the one below, or you can find your own)
  • Cut out of a pacifier (same thing applies – you can use the one below, or make your own)
  • Tape or thumb tacks (or if you want to get really high tech, that gummy stuff that makes paper stick to something without actually sticking to it…I have no idea what it’s called…)
  • Blindfold
  • Prize for the winner

1.) Print out the pictures of the crying baby and pacifier below (or, find a different picture of a baby you want to use). It’s best to print it on card stock since it’s a heavier paper, and it won’t tear as easily. You may also want to enlarge the image for a bigger target. Just take it in to a copy or office store and they can do that for you.

2.) Trim the pacifier around the edges so that the guests can really “place” the pacifier in the baby’s mouth. You  may want to re-size it first. Do a test print to determine the size you want.

3.) Blindfold the guest who’s going, and have them all take turns trying to place the pacifier in the baby’s mouth, using either a piece of tape or a tack. Mark each guests placement on the baby with their initials. The person who gets the closest is the winner and gets a prize!

Another way you can play this game is to give each guest their own pacifier cut-out (make sure they have their name or initials on it though). Then you can leave the pacifiers on the baby throughout the game.

You can tailor this game to fit exactly how you want to play it, and to fit the guest list and party space.

P.S. These are not my images. I did a Google search for crying baby clip art and these are some of the ones I thought would work best. I take no responsibility of the images. Only thought I would share some of my findings ;). If you don’t like them, or think you can find better, go for it my friend!

You can either right click on the image and save them to your computer as it and then print it that way, or you could click on the image and it will open up in another window (it should end up bigger this way) and then you can print from there.
