What’s For Dinner Baby Shower Game

Baby shower games are too much of a tradition not to include in the celebration! Plus, they offer entertainment for the guests, and great memories for the mother to be. If you landed on this page, then you probably already know that and you’re looking for some baby shower game ideas. Well, you’re in luck. The What’s for Dinner Baby Shower Game (or the Guess the Baby Food game) is very easy and very simple to execute, and it almost can’t not be included in your arsenal of games. The directions on how to play the game are below.

Supplies:

  • 7-10 different jars of baby food
  • Prize for the winner

1.) Buy between 7-10 different baby food jars. A good mix between fruits, vegetables and dinners is always fun. You’d be surprised at the various amount of choices they have for baby food nowadays.

2.) To prepare for the game, remove the labels of all of the baby food jars you have purchased for the game. You might find it helpful to label the bottom of the jars with a sharpie marker, in case you forget what it is! This way, the guests can’t see what it is, but you have a cheat sheet system in place, should the need arise.

3.) When the guests arrive and you are ready to play, pass around a jar at a time. Let all of the guests look at the food, they can even smell it. Heck, you could even let them taste it if you want. Tip: Some people may not like the idea of tasting something that other people have put their fingers into, so – I’ve said it before – know your audience.

4.) After the jar of baby food has been passed around the room for the guessers, you can either have them write their answers on a piece of paper with their names, or you can do it by a “whoever shouts out the answer first” type deal. Whatever way you decide to do it, the winner will be the person with the most correct amount of answers and gets a prize!

Prizes can and should be anything you want. It’s fun to try to keep the prizes related to the game, so in this case, maybe a gift certificate to a restaurant would be fitting. If cost is an issue, do not underestimate the power of the dollar store. You can find very cute decorative stuff at the dollar store.

If you play What’s for Dinner (or the Guess the Baby Food) baby shower game, your guests will have a good time trying to guess the difference between bananas and apples! Obviously, you can change this game to be tailored to your needs, and you can play it however you see fit for your guests. Have fun with it, and remember – it’s about the memories!
